Youth Club Centre, Devon

Back in 2024, Co Create Architects had the pleasure of supporting Navigators Youth Club in Kingskerswell by preparing the planning application for a new covered outdoor area. The aim was simple: to create a practical sheltered space that would allow the group to continue outdoor activities throughout the year, whatever the weather. As part of Environmental Day 2026, it was incredibly rewarding to return and help bring that vision to life.

Co Create Architects Community Involvement
Alongside an amazing team of volunteers, parents and local businesses, we spent the day helping to build the new covered area for the youth group. Seeing the project move from drawings and planning approval into a real space being used by the community made the day especially meaningful for our team.

The project would not have been possible without the generous support of local businesses including Bradfords Building Supplies Ltd, The Sloop Inn and Costa Coffee. A special thank you also goes to Armada Property UK Ltd whose support and organisation helped make the day happen.
A Big Thank You
Most importantly, thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and energy. The atmosphere throughout the day was brilliant and it was inspiring to see so many people come together to support a valuable local organisation.

Navigators Youth Club provides young people with opportunities to learn, develop confidence and enjoy outdoor activities in a safe and supportive environment. The new covered area will give them a much more usable space during wetter months and help future activities continue throughout the year.

For us, this project represents everything we value about community focused design. Architecture is not only about drawings and buildings. It is about creating spaces that positively impact the people who use them and supporting projects that strengthen local communities.
