The Urology Investigations Unit has been carefully designed to provide a calm, well-organised and patient-centred environment. The scheme incorporates a series of specialised diagnostic and treatment areas within a coherent spatial arrangement, promoting ease of access, privacy and operational flow. High-quality finishes and thoughtful detailing contribute to a therapeutic atmosphere, while clear wayfinding and natural light enhance user comfort and confidence.

Integration and Efficiency
This new facility brings together the entire urology team for the first time on a single, dedicated site. Co Create Architects focused on creating a layout that encourages clinical integration while supporting efficiency and flexibility in care delivery. The design facilitates one-stop pathways for patients, enabling quicker assessments and improved outcomes. Clinical zones are balanced with discrete staff areas, all configured to maximise usability and adaptability for future service needs.
Part of a Regional Vision
The project forms part of Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust’s broader ‘Building a Brighter Future’ capital investment programme. Co Create Architects worked closely with stakeholders to ensure the unit aligns with the Trust’s long-term vision for improved care environments. The resulting space supports the latest medical technologies while offering a welcoming setting for patients and staff alike — a significant addition to the region’s healthcare infrastructure.
