Two Tides, Teignmouth
Co Create Architects have designed two traditionally inspired homes for a carefully considered infill site in Teignmouth. The plot, while challenging, provided an opportunity to create a thoughtful response to the character and rhythm of the surrounding area.
Design Approach
The design takes influence from local architecture, with pitched roofs, simple proportions and a calm, familiar material palette. The homes are designed to sit comfortably within their setting, with careful attention to scale and form.
Contemporary Touches
While the overall approach is traditional, a light touch of contemporary design is introduced through the use of modern materials and subtle detailing. These features help bring in more natural light and create spaces that feel open and practical for modern living.
Outcome and Ambition
The result is a pair of homes that blend the familiar with the new, offering a gentle update to the street while respecting what already exists. The aim is to create something that feels lasting, well crafted and quietly confident.
