We were appointed to design and assist in the delivery of this contemporary addition to a beautiful Grade II listed property in the heart of Exeter. The project presented a unique opportunity to blend modern living with historic character, requiring a sensitive design approach that respected the heritage of the existing building while introducing a bold and elegant new intervention.

Our Concept
A careful mix of old and new, this project combines contemporary design ideas with traditional materials to create an extension that beautifully complements the character of the existing Grade II listed property. Drawing from the original building’s proportions and detailing, the new addition introduces clean lines, natural textures and generous glazing to bring light and connection to the outdoors, while remaining respectful of the site’s heritage. The result is a seamless integration of past and present, a space that feels both timeless and modern, enhancing the home’s functionality without compromising its historical integrity.
