Brampton Court, Torbay

Co Create Architects led the design of Brampton Court, a transformative residential development in the heart of Torquay’s Belgravia Conservation Area. The project repurposed the former Brampton Court Hotel into 14 high-quality one- and two-bedroom homes, combining contemporary living with sensitive heritage restoration.

The Scheme
In collaboration with Bramcourt Limited and Armada Property UK, the scheme retained and enhanced the building’s historic character while meeting modern sustainability standards. Key architectural features were preserved, landscaping was improved, and existing materials were reused to reduce carbon emissions. Secure cycle storage and on-site parking were also integrated into the design.

Brampton Court marked the first project delivered under Torbay Council’s ‘Hotels to Homes’ initiative, which aimed to convert underused hotel properties into much-needed housing. The project supported local regeneration by revitalising brownfield sites and addressing acute housing demand.

Completed in late 2025, Brampton Court delivered thoughtfully designed, energy-efficient homes that respected the area’s historic identity while meeting the needs of modern residents.
