Earlier this week, we hosted a charity crêpe day at our studio here in Exeter. The idea was simple – free crêpes, good vibes and the chance to make a donation if you felt like it. The response blew us away.
We raised an amazing £1,130.06 for Rowcroft Hospice, thanks to the kind support of everyone who turned up, donated or helped out on the day.

Why Rowcroft?
This event was about more than pancakes. It was personal.
Rowcroft Hospice, based in Torquay, looked after Jabez, who was the father-in-law of our director Alistair Powe and dad to our colleague Charlotte, before he sadly passed away on 11 June 2025.
They were there for him and the family during the final weeks of his life. The care they gave was full of warmth, kindness and respect. It made a huge difference, and it’s something we’ll never forget.
That’s why we chose Rowcroft. They do incredible work for people across Torbay, Exeter and South Devon, helping families through the hardest times with real compassion. Most of their funding comes from the local community, so every bit of support matters.
With help from Jon Leck and the brilliant team at Basepoint Business Centre in Exeter, we fired up the crêpe pans and opened our doors. There was plenty of flour, a few dodgy flips, and lots of smiling faces. It felt like a proper community moment.
Some people came for the crêpes. Others came to donate or just say hello. Everyone played a part, and we’re really thankful for that.

Why Do We Do It?
We’re architects based in Exeter, but our work and our values go further than that. As a local practice, we care about the people and places we’re part of – whether that’s in Torbay, Mid Devon or right here in the city.
Designing buildings is one thing, but being involved in the community and giving back in small ways really matters to us too.

A Massive Thank You
To everyone who donated, helped flip crêpes or simply turned up – thank you. You’ve helped raise money for a charity that makes a real difference to local people’s lives. And that means everything.
Together, we did something good.
