Little Oldway Care Home, Paignton

Little Oldway is a residential care home located in Paignton, Devon. The building is located on the site of Oldway Mansion. With the growing needs of the business it is proposed that the facility is expanded and Co Create Architects have been appointment to design an extension to the Grade II listed care home. The proposal is landscape driven and has been developed in tandem to integrate with it surroundings.

Our Approach
The extension has been carefully designed to respect the historical significance of the existing structure while providing modern, high-quality accommodation for residents. Consideration has been given to scale, form, and materiality to ensure the new addition complements the original building without competing with it.

Emphasis has been placed on creating a calming, therapeutic environment through thoughtful landscaping, improved access to outdoor spaces, and enhanced visual connections to nature.
