Delderfields, a sustainable design with a focus on environmental strategies
This exciting project in Exmouth, Devon is a large addition of living space as a contemporary extension to an existing dwelling with a detached workshop, employing a number of different sustainable strategies and materials. This project involved creating a sustainable design that is efficient, functional and aesthetically pleasing. This addition will not only improve the quality of the living space but also the beauty and interest of the existing dwelling.
Sustainable Design
This project gave us a unique opportunity to blend sustainable strategies with modern architectural design. We opted for zinc and timber as cladding for the main aesthetic of the extension and incorporated different environmental strategies to maximise the sustainability. By adopting these strategies which included water collection, ventilation, natural lighting and solar shading, we created a sustainable and visually stunning extension which enhanced the environmental performance and functionality of the building.
